June 2025 – Clarkes Court Marina and Boatyard, Grenada
Sadie Girl was hauled out and on the hard with a bunch of men scrubbing her bottom. We thought we should pay her a visit to see how it was all going.
Unfortunately, the paint stripping had revealed a series of patches of pitting in the hull that was a little worse than anticipated. With insulation and wiring on the inside the team at Horizon Yachts wasn’t sure if we could cut out and replace the panel completely or if we would need to be putting a patch over the top.
We shall see how it pans out!
Grenada itself is amazing at this time of year. Glorious temperatures, strong breezes and light showers. Even in the Boatyard the boat was breezy and comfortable.
We both had a bunch of fun checking out all the boat systems, cleaning up, throwing out the trash and making it feel slightly ‘ours’. It’s all starting to feel VERY real now! Exciting and anxiety inducing.
The Boatyard is a bunch of fun with lots of friendly workers, yard dogs and.. An ice cream truck.
